Community service team of Informatics department of UNDIP held competency improvement training for teachers of SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Semarang with Cloud Computing Technology

The community service team of the Department of Informatics, Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Diponegoro University, carried out training activities on the use of cloud computing technology through Canva for teachers of SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Semarang in an effort to improve digital competence in the preparation of teaching materials. The Program is structured based on the needs of schools to strengthen the ability of teachers to create interactive teaching materials that are relevant to the demands of modern learning.
The implementation of the activities was carried out for four months, starting from exploring partners, collecting information, to preparing training materials. The peak of the activity took place on September 25, 2025 in the Hall of SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Semarang and was attended by 22 teachers. The training was opened by the principal and head of the service team, Dr. Sutikno, S.T., M.Cs., then continued with the delivery of the material by Henry Tantyoko, S.Kom., M.Kom., and Agil Judis Wibawa. Teachers get training on how to get started with Canva, how to use key features, How to integrate ChatGPT to generate AI prompts, and how to create digital teaching materials in person. To ensure the effectiveness of the activities, participants also participated in pretest and posttest.
The activities took place interactively with question and answer sessions and practical assistance, which showed the enthusiasm of the teachers in learning new technologies. Through this training, teachers are expected to produce teaching materials that are more interesting and varied so as to increase student interest in learning. The Program closed with a joint photo session and received positive appreciation from the school, as well as opening opportunities for continued cooperation in the development of digital competence of educators.
