Improve the quality of Animal Husbandry, Undip lecturers socializes the use of AI by the Farmers ' Association of KUB Purbalingga

PURBALINGGA - in order to improve the quality and efficiency in the livestock sector, the Information Department of Diponegoro University (Undip) held a community service activity with the theme of socialization on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the livestock sector in Bajong Village, Bukateja District, Purbalingga Regency on October 27, 2023.
This activity received a warm welcome from the chairman of the Farmers Association of KUB Purbalingga, Mr. Darmanto, Mr. Eko Haryanto, S.H, as well as some members of the association. All participants seemed enthusiastic to know how AI technology can be utilized in the field of animal husbandry.
As a resource person, Dr. Eng. Adi Wibowo S.Si, M.Kom, Sandy Kurniawan, S.Kom, M.Kom, Helmie Arif Wibawa, S.Si, M.Cs and Dr. Aris Sugiharto, S.Si, M.Kom from the Department of Informatics of Universitas Diponegoro gave an in-depth explanation of the various applications and advantages of using AI in the field of animal husbandry.
Dr. Eng. Adi Wibowo said that one of the materials that attracted attention was the use of AI-based cameras for Disease Detection in farm animals.
"This AI technology can identify the early symptoms of the disease quickly and accurately, so that farmers can immediately take preventive or treatment steps,” said Dr. Eng. Adi Wibowo.
” In addition, AI can help farmers in finding the best solutions to various challenges in the world of livestock, ranging from animal feed management, crop prediction, to marketing strategies, " he added.
Meanwhile, Mr. Darmanto as chairman of the KUB Purbalingga Breeders Association, expressed his appreciation to the community service team of the Undip Information Department.
"We are very grateful to Diponegoro University for giving us new insights in the field of animal husbandry. Hopefully with the use of AI technology, the quality of livestock in Purbalingga can increase."
This activity confirms the commitment of the Department of Informatics Diponegoro University in applying science and technology to improve the quality of life of the community.
