Introduction of Block-based Visual programming method for elementary school teachers Pangeran Diponegoro Tembalang, Semarang

The use of technology at this time is undeniable. It also changed the need for learning methods in programming science. The learning process of computer programs is a challenge especially for elementary school students. So that in this service, the service team of the Department of Informatics, Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Diponegoro University held a service for teachers of SD Pangeran Diponegoro Tembalang, Semarang City. The service team consists of Edy Suharto, S.T., M.Kom as chairman and member is Dinar Mutiara K.N, Ph.D; Panji Wisnu Wirawan, M.T.; Dr. Tarno, M.Si. and Prof. Dr. Widowati, S.Si., M.Si .
The purpose of this service is to conduct basic and practical training for teachers on the introduction of Block-based Visual programming methods .
The dedication was carried out on March 10, 2023, with participants being teachers of Pangeran Diponegoro Tembalang elementary school, Semarang City. Through this service, teachers are given the introduction and training of Block-based Visual programming that will help to think computationally with the aim that teachers get more understanding and can add programming material to students at school.
The results of the activity showed that the teachers of SD Pangerang Diponegoro, Tembalang were very enthusiastic about the training and they wanted to apply the visual programming method based on Block in learning programming.
