Introduction Of Game Based Learning As a support for cognitive development of children aged 4-6 years the Paud Permata UNDIP

On August 9, 2023, the community service team of the Department of Informatics FSM UNDIP, held a community service activity on the topic of introducing Game Based Learning as a support for the cognitive development of children aged 4-6 years in PAUD Permata UNDIP. This activity was carried out by interacting directly with children, PAUD Permata UNDIP students and was also attended by 9 PAUD teachers.

Game Based Learning (GBL) is a learning method that uses game applications or games that have been specifically designed to help the learning process and help improve the effectiveness of students in learning. GBL is one way of learning that can be used for cognitive development in children.

The implementation method used is to provide GBL media using a laptop then provide directions and explanations about the benefits and how to learn to use GBL, followed by asking children to try the game on GBL. Second, the implementation of cognitive development is done with assistance when children use GBL accompanied by providing a little understanding of cognitive, then ask children to show how to solve problems in the game asked by the teacher. Third, after the introduction of cognitive done after the child uses GBL is to deepen the material about cognitive already learned using the application GBL shows some advantages that foster curiosity and creativity of children, as well as the learning process becomes interesting.

With the implementation of this community service, it is expected to develop the cognitive of children aged 4-6 years in PAUD Permata UNDIP with the aim of knowing the use of educational game media in developing cognitive age 4-6 years in PAUD Permata UNDIP.
