Introduction to Cross-platform Mobile Application Development Framework to Improve Student Competence at SMK Negeri 1 Trenggalek

Workshop “Introduction to Cross-platform Mobile Application Development Framework to Improve Student Competence at SMK Negeri 1 Suruh Trenggalek” was successfully held offline on Friday, October 11, 2024, at SMK Negeri 1 Suruh, Trenggalek, located on Jl. Ngusman Was Born In The Village Of Surut, Surut District, Trenggalek Regency, East Java. The activity began at 09.30 to 11.00 WIB, involving students and teachers of SMK Negeri 1 Suruh took place in the Computer Laboratory Department of computer and Network Engineering (TKJ) SMK Negeri 1 Suruh.
There are 2 sessions of community service activities, namely, material giving sessions and application making demos. The materials given in the first session consisted of basic materials on application development on mobile devices, types of mobile platforms, introduction to cross-platform application development, benefits and potential of cross-platform development, introduction to related programming languages, and introduction to self-study site resources on cross-platform application development on the internet. Material presented by Adhe Setya Pramayoga, M.T. and Prajanto Wahyu Adi, M.T.
The second session on this community service activity was a demo of application creation which was also attended by all participants. In the session, the implementing lecturer demonstrated the application creation in stages. Participants follow each stage of creation with the aim of providing experience to develop applications using cross-platform development frameworks directly. All participants are invited to practice the material that has been given, starting from understanding the structure of the application to create a simple application. The speaker gave an example of programming a counter application using one of the mobile application development frameworks, namely Flutter with the ProjectIDX IDE.
This activity provides benefits for students and teachers at SMK Negeri 1 surut to gain new insights about cross-platform mobile application development technology, which can be applied in the learning environment and the world of work. Students are better prepared to enter the workforce with skills suited to the evolving needs of the information technology industry. Teachers can enrich teaching methods with relevant and up-to-date materials, so that the learning process becomes more effective and in accordance with the latest technological trends. As well as, encouraging innovation in mobile application development among students, which can help overcome everyday problems with technology.
