Parental control technology utilization for Mothers of Berlian-mangunharjo village

This perpetuation towards society was one of the activity that will be held every semester by the lecturer of computer science/informatics department of diponegoro university in order to do the the task as required in three pledges of university. Every perpetuation in computer science and/informatics was divided into 4 different team each semester with different theme and topic. As one of the team participating in this perpetuation consist of 5 lecturer: Dr. Retno Kusumaningrum, S.Si., M.Kom., Drs. Djalal Er Riyanto, MI.Komp., Beta Noranita, S.Si., M.Kom., Indra Waspada, ST, MTI, as well as Panji Wisnu Wirawan, ST, MT, this team brought up the theme of the utilization of parental control kids zone as one of many efforts to reduce the risk of gadget addiction on kids
This theme was brought up along with the high number of quantity/frequency of gadget usage by kids and also the limited amount of knowledge from parents in general as well as mothers particularly about the symptoms, danger, and also strategy on how to control the usage of gadget on kids, and it was still done manually with giving prohibition as well as verbal warning directly. That of course was prone to get violated. Because of that, the introduction of parental technology can be used as one of the solution to solve that problem. As for the target that was chosen for this perpetuation was mothers of PKK in berlian village, mangunharjo, tembalang sub-district, semarang city. The reason behind that was because PKK was one of the main element in society that was formed to empower and develop family prosperity, so that it will infect to alll the villager in their respective environment
This sets of activity was held for 3 days from march up until may (2018), including the making of 2 pocket book, counseling, and also evaluation. The 2 pocket book that was produced in this perpetuation was served in a form of infographic titled “Awas!! kecanduan gadget pada anak dan remaja” with Kids zone, control and child lock manual book
Meanwhile, counseling starts on Sunday, 22 april 2018 located at RT O4, RW O5 mangunharjo, tembalang sub-district, semarang city. Based on the evaluation that was done using online form some various result shows how lucrative this activity can be towards the society in order to expand their knowledge regarding the danger, symptom, tips, and therapy to heal gadget addiction, and also to give skills to install and operate The parental control kids zone app. Furthermore, the creation of the pocket book in form of infographic as well as counseling technique along with direct practice making the matter easy to understand by all the participant.
