The potential for bullying in schools is still high. Based on the results of the National Assessment in 2021, as many as 24.4% of students have the potential to experience bullying at school. This becomes very worrying, because this value is relatively high, where out of every 4 people, there is at least 1 student who has the potential to experience bullying at school, with various causes of bullying.
Bullying or in English is bullying, is an unpleasant behavior carried out by individuals or groups to others physically or verbally, and occurs in the real world as well as in cyberspace (internet, especially on social media). The impact of bullying will make the victim feel uncomfortable, hurt, and depressed. Further negative impacts that will be felt by the victim include physical and psychological pain, self-confidence (self-esteem) is declining, the feelings of shame, trauma, feeling alone, and awry, fear of activity, self-isolation, suffering from social fears, and can even lead to a very fatal impact such as the occurrence of mental disorders or the desire to commit suicide.
When bullying occurs in schools, then this has the potential to have a serious impact on student achievement which will result in a decrease in interest in learning and even unwilling to come to school. The desire of victims of bullying to isolate themselves is due to trauma when going to school, the victim will again be exposed to bullying carried out by his social circle of friends either intentionally or unintentionally. Victims who do not get serious and proper treatment are feared to be unable to control themselves so that the impact of the bullying they suffer is feared to become increasingly severe.
So severe is the impact of bullying for students, then bullying as far as possible prevented in such a way by all parties related to the learning activities of students, both in the school environment, family at home, and the social environment of friends. All parties have their own roles in preventing bullying in schools. The roles of related parties in the Prevention of bullying need to be carried out comprehensively by all parties so that all related parties realize the importance of preventing bullying.
