Safety and healthy Internet and social media for mothers in Tlogosari Kulon Pedurungan Semarang

Smartphone possession is impacting Internet and social media usage in society. Meanwhile it is true that INternet and social media is extremely helpful, but the negative impact also come within the presence of it. Moreover ifthey didn’t use it wisely, it can be worse. For that there is an urgent need of some form of education towards society regardless of healthy and safe internet usage. On Saturday, 20th of april 2019, the volunteer that consist of 5 member of lecturer of Computer science department, science and mathematics faculty, Diponegoro university held a trainig with the theme of Safety and healthy internet and social media for the members of PKK( Family prosperity empowerment) RT 09 RW 05, Tilongsari Kulon, Pedurungan, Semarang. The purpose of the event is to give training to the society on the usage of internet and social media that are healthy and safe. Training was done by giving explanation about “healthy internet” and also the installation of parental control software that can be used to control the usage of smartphone by kids. The voulunteer team from computer science department gets a positive review from the members of PKK (family prosperity empowerment) that participate in the training and hope that this training will continue in the future.
