Social Media literacy for students of SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Semarang as millennial generation in Digital Era

The way millennials learn in the digital age today will certainly be different from how they learned before. Technology such as HP, laptops and others and to access learning must be easy to find learning materials from various platforms available. How to learn to use digital media in the digital age can attract students ' interest in learning so that students are not saturated with learning that focuses on text and only listens to explanations from teachers. Interaction using digital media, especially social media, can be done openly through dialogical and participatory communication. Existing reality, not all individuals have understanding and prudence in interacting in the virtual world. In addition, students use the internet for a longer period of time, in fact, on the internet there are many negative things that have the potential to have a bad impact on students, including negatively charged content (such as pornography, violence, hedonism culture), threats of fraud on social media, and addiction to online games.
Moreover, Junior High School students or teenagers who are generally not stable enough, are very easily affected by these negative impacts. Low knowledge of social media literacy in society in this digital age is one of the biggest reasons for the use of social media more to things that are negative rather than to things that are positive. Therefore, in this activity, social Media literacy activities were proposed for students of SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Semarang as millennials in the Digital Era. This activity can provide knowledge to students about the internet that is healthy and safe for students and provide them with tips for internet or social media activities wisely. Thus, students can gain knowledge of how to surf the internet in a healthy and safe. Students can use and apply digital literacy, especially social media, so that students of SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Semarang can have the ability to use and access technology as wisely as possible in order to create positive iterations and communication in the learning and academic environment.
