Socialisation Of Internet Sehat And Parental Application Training For PKK Cadres In Jeruk Agung, Srumbung, Magelang

The development of Information Technology (IT) has a great impact on human civilization. The development of IT is not only enjoyed by urban communities, but also has penetrated the community in rural areas. In addition to the positive impacts, the development of IT also brings negative impacts that need to be watched out by all the people. One of the negative impacts is the phenomenon called gadget addiction. The effects of this gadget addiction are very dangerous, especially when it comes to children.
Based on this background, the community service team from the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Diponegoro University, held a seminar to PKK cadres in Jeruk Agung Village, Srumbung District, Magelang District. The activity with the theme “SOCIALISATION OF INTERNET SEHAT AND PARENTAL APPLICATION TRAINING FOR PKK CADRES IN JERUK AGUNG, SRUMBUNG, MAGELANG” is an even-semester community service activity in the 2019/2020 academic year, took place at the Jeruk Agung Village Hall, Srumbung , Magelang District. The team consists of 5 lecturers from the Computer Science department, FSM UNDIP, namely; Rismiyati, B.Eng, M.Cs, Drs. Eko Adi Sarwoko, M.Kom, Ragil Saputra S.Si, M.Cs, Dinar Mutiara K. N, ST, M.Info, Ph.D, and Edy Suharto, S.T., M.Kom. This seminar was attended by 61 PKK cadres in Jeruk Agung village.
The seminar was opened at 10 am, with remarks by Drs. Eko Adi Sarwoko, M.Kom, as a representative of UNDIP and Mr. Darwanto as Secretary of the Jeruk Agung Village. The event continued with the first session by Rismiyati, B.Eng, M.Cs, who explained some of the benefits and negative impacts of the internet. In the presentation, it is also explained some basic rules when accompanying children in using the internet. The second session’s presenter is Ragil Saputra S.Si, M.Cs. In this session, PKK cadres in Jeruk Agung Village are taught on how to set their devices to avoid negative usage of Internet, especially when accessed by their children. This settings are done mainly from the Play Store application, YouTube and an additional applications, namely Kidsplace.
After the presentation of the material, a question and answer session was held. The PKK cadres in Jeruk Agung Village were very enthusiastic in asking questions about the problems faced in controlling their children internet usage. In total, there were 10 questioners in the Question and Answer session. The dedication program was then closed at around 1 pm. A token of appreciation is given by UNDIP’s representatives to the Jeruk Agung Village PKK leader.
