Computational Thinking is a method of solving problems by applying computer science techniques (Informatics). Computational thinking teaches the thought processes used to support problem solving in all disciplines, including humanities, mathematics and science. Computational thinking can be taught from an early age even from the elementary school level by making connections in a subject or by giving examples of solving simple problems found in daily activities. On September 2, 2022, the community service team of the Department of Informatics FSM UNDIP, held a socialization activity for the Bebras information system as a means of learning computational thinking for all fifth grade elementary school students, held at SD Islam Pangeran Diponegoro Tembalang Semarang.
Through this community service, students are taught to create a bebras account, use the Bebras information system, and try and solve the problems that exist in the bebras information system.
At the end of the activity, an evaluation was also carried out to see how far the understanding of the fifth grade students of Diponegoro Islamic elementary school in using the bebras information system and solving problems in the information system.
The questions will encourage students to think creatively and critically in solving problems by applying the concepts of computational thinking. The introduction of information systems to students aims to assist students in solving problems with computational thinking, through various features in the Bebras information system. It is expected that by knowing the students of this Bebras information system, students can learn independently about critical thinking, anywhere and anytime.
