Universitas Diponegoro Holds World Class University Program with Focus on Cloud Technology and Edge Computing

Semarang, 6-7 November 2024 – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) through the Department of Informatics, Faculty of Science and Mathematics, successfully held a World Class University program with the theme “Advancements in Cloud Computing and Edge Computing Technologies”. This Program presents the main speaker Shan-Hsiang Shen, Ph.D., a leading academic from National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST), who discusses various recent developments in the field of Cloud technology and Edge Computing.
This activity consists of a series of seminars, academic discussions, and signing of strategic cooperation. One of the main points presented by Dr. Shan-Hsiang Shen is an innovation in Software-Defined Networking (SDN) that enables efficiency in the management of computer networks. Dr. Shen also explained the latest research results related to the application of QoE in edge computing and SDN-based multicast data transmission efficiency, which are important aspects for the development of Internet of Things (IoT) and multimedia technologies.
As part of this activity, intensive discussions were conducted between lecturers and students to explore opportunities for research collaboration, student exchange, as well as strategies to increase the number of international publications. The highlight of the program was the signing of an Implementation Agreement between Diponegoro University and NTUST, marking the strengthening of bilateral relations in the academic and research fields.
Guruh Aryotejo, S.Kom., M.Sc., the initiator and moderator of the event, said that this program is a strategic step in supporting the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (IKU) of Diponegoro University. "This activity is not only aimed at improving UNDIP's international reputation, but also expanding collaboration networks to encourage the development of education and research with global standards,” he said.
Through this activity, Diponegoro University has successfully demonstrated its commitment to improving academic quality and contributing to global digital transformation. Collaboration with NTUST, one of the world's leading universities, is expected to have a positive impact on increasing the number of scientific publications, lecturer capacity building, and opportunities for students to gain international experience.
