The development of Information Technology (IT) is growing very rapidly in various sectors, including in the software development industry. Competition in the software developer industry is very tight, so an increase is needed in terms of the quality of the development process and software products produced in order to compete with competitors (Ian, 2011; Roger, 2010). On the other hand, the software requirements specification must also be defined quickly at the beginning of the stage, because it is used as the basis for estimating project work (Wiegers, 2013; Michael, 1995).
Based on observations made on several software development industries, it is still found that many aspects of software development that are carried out do not use aspects of software development. This can be proven by looking at the results provided to the user in terms of documents. The documents provided mostly only focus on manual documents for the use of the software being developed, but very few provide technical documents at each stage of software development.
Based on some of the problems mentioned above, in order for the quality of the software developed by the software developer industry, and users are more guaranteed for the quality of the products provided, it is necessary to provide an activity to provide knowledge to the software developer industry regarding the use of these aspects software development methodology in community service activities regarding the use of activity aspects in the tool development methodology.
Community service activity entitled "User Requirement Gathering Training for Business Analysts of PT. DES Tekonologi Informasi Semarang "was completed on September 18, 2020.
