Utilization of Artificial Intelligence in elementary education in SD Negeri Karangjati Kabupaten Pekalongan

The development of artificial intelligence (AI) is very beneficial in various fields. One area that can benefit from AI is education. The community service team of the Information Department of Undip carried out the service at KARANGJATI Elementary School, Wiradesa District, Pekalongan Regency. In this activity, socialization about artificial intelligence or artificial intelligence was carried out to teachers at SD Negeri Karangjati. Socialization on AI was attended by teachers, principals, and supervisors at SD Negeri Karangjati.
AI is a technology that allows computers to learn and think like humans, so that they can perform tasks that normally require human intelligence such as recognizing images, speaking, writing, or even making decisions. In education, AI itself can be utilized for personalized learning, analysis and assessment, chatbot learning, as well as media implementation of distance learning. While AI has great potential to improve education, keep in mind that technology is not a magic solution. Therefore, the use of AI in education must be balanced with effective learning strategies and focused on the needs of students.
This activity began with remarks from representatives of the undip service team, head of Karangjati state elementary school, and elementary school supervisors. Furthermore, the core of the dedication event was the exposure of artificial intelligence and its utilization in the field of Education. Furthermore, simulations of artificial intelligence-based applications were carried out, namely making simple programs with Scratch and asking questions using OpenAI Chat GPT. After that, a post-test was carried out to ensure that the exposure delivered was well understood by the teachers. And finally, a keepsake was handed over from the Undip dedication team to SD Negeri Karangjati.
With the implementation of this community service, it is expected that teachers at SD Negeri Karangjati can be more familiar with the concept of artificial intelligence or artificial intelligence. In addition, it is also expected that teachers at SD Negeri Karangjati can utilize artificial intelligence-based applications to support their students ' learning at school, both as props, evaluation media or learning media.
