World Class Practitioner Program: Department of Informatics FSM Undip and Alibaba Cloud Present Global Experts on Cloud Security

Semarang, October 6, 2025 — The Department of Informatics, Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Diponegoro University (Undip), successfully held a World Class Practitioner Program in collaboration with Alibaba Cloud, a leading global technology company specializing in cloud computing services.
The event, themed “Why Cloud Security Matters: Safeguarding Data and Workloads in the Age of AI,” featured two distinguished speakers: Mr. Jawad Shah, Ph.D. (Senior Training Advisor, Alibaba Cloud) and Mr. Muhammad Maliqi Akbar (Lead Solution Architect, Alibaba Cloud Indonesia).
Held onsite at Acintya Prasada Building, 6th Floor, Faculty of Science and Mathematics, the seminar and workshop attracted enthusiastic participation from students and lecturers eager to deepen their understanding of cybersecurity and cloud security in the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
In his opening remarks, Vice Dean for Resources, Dr. Eng. Adi Wibowo, S.Si., M.Kom., expressed his appreciation for the collaboration between the Department of Informatics and Alibaba Cloud. He emphasized the importance of partnerships with global industries to enhance students’ competencies and align higher education with current technological developments.
“This collaboration is a concrete step by FSM Undip to prepare students for the challenges of the global technology landscape. By engaging directly with world-class practitioners, students gain valuable industry insights and practical skills in system security,” said Dr. Adi Wibowo.
Throughout the sessions, both speakers from Alibaba Cloud shared in-depth insights on data protection in cloud environments, best practices for securing cloud workloads, and the role of Artificial Intelligence in strengthening cybersecurity systems.
This event is part of the World Class Practitioner Program of Diponegoro University, an initiative aimed at inviting international professionals to share their expertise with students and faculty, bridging academia with industry, and supporting Undip’s vision to become a World Class University (WCU).
Through this collaboration, students of the Department of Informatics FSM Undip are expected to become better prepared to contribute to the advancement of cloud computing and cybersecurity technologies at both national and global levels.
